Paula Elena Ramos – Artist in Residence

Paula Elena Ramos (Spain) is a multidisciplinary artist-researcher with over ten years of experience in performing arts, writing and contemporary photography. 

Her work addresses issues such as family, trauma and the body from a critical, self-referential perspective, using them as a starting point to explore collective problems. Through the hybridization of languages, she is interested in the limits of representation and in that which escapes the structures that organize our perception. 

During her residency at Jakob Sande - center for narrative arts, she is developing an expanded script that delves into liminal space and states of transition. The project approaches the threshold as a place where cultural references intersect, where linguistic sounds produce forms of encounter and estrangement, while also being, in themselves, intangible. 

Over the next three weeks, Paula Elena will seek to integrate herself into local life in an active dialogue with the cultural environment of Sunnfjord. Thus, the direct experience is organically incorporated into her own research process.
